Shanique Grant is an American IFBB professional bodybuilder and online coach currently signed to Team Rankin Muscle. Shanique has achieved her most tremendous success at the 2018 IFBB Wings of Strength Chicago Pro.

Shanique was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. She is the daughter of an African American mother and an Irish father. Although Shanique’s parents were not bodybuilders, they did promote healthy eating in the household, and their encouragement always surrounded Shanique.
Shanique graduated from Jones College Prep High School in 2014, where she led the school’s basketball team to a state championship in her sophomore year. Shanique was awarded the MVP award for basketball at the end of her senior year.
Shanique Grant weighs 54.4 kg (120 lbs) at the height of 5’2″ (157cm). Her body fat percentage is currently 16.1%. Shanique is also a boxer who trains for 12 months out of the year.
Shanique is 22 years old. She is not yet married, but she is in a relationship with a man named Trey Adcock. Trey is also a bodybuilder. The two have been engaged for a year and a half now.
Shanique Grant’s Bodybuilding Career
The first time Shanique met an IFBB professional was when she was 16.
Shanique has been training in bodybuilding since 2013. Her first competition was at the 2013 NPC Teen/Novice Illinois, where she placed 2nd. Shanique continued to compete in several NPC shows before signing with the IFBB in 2015.
Shanique’s workout routine includes four body part splits. Shanique trains the upper body on Monday and Thursday, legs on Tuesday and Friday, and lower body on Wednesday and Saturday.
She uses jelly dumbbells which distribute the weight evenly around your hands. These bells add 50 pounds to Shanique’s max dumbbell weight of 80 pounds. Shanique also uses a pulley system with her leg press machine, which allows her to use up to 100 lbs!
Shanique spends approximately 2 hours in the gym on training days and 3 hours in the gym on non-training days. Shanique’s favorite exercises are squats, pull-ups, and rows.
Her least favorite exercises are calf raises and overhead barbell presses. Her training regimen includes 30 mins of aerobic exercise (jogging, biking) 6 days out of the week. The total duration of her weekly workout routine is approximately 7 hours.
Is Shanique Grant Natural?
Many believe natural bodybuilders do not have to use drugs to achieve their muscles.

Shanique’s diet plan consists of eating seven meals a day. She consumes around 3 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight.
Shanique has cut her carbohydrate intake from 300 to 200 grams per day and limits her fat intake to 20 grams per day. She is currently on a 5% caloric surplus which is approximately 2500 calories each day. Her carb-to-protein ratio is 32-33% which she ensures by consuming foods such as tuna, salmon, chicken breast, and oatmeal. This helps her stay healthy while building the right amount of muscle mass.
Her high school years were not easy for Shanique Grant. She was bullied throughout her junior and high school years, which pushed her to overcompensate.
This is an everyday inspiration for many bodybuilders today in their journey to self-improvement. Even when she was younger, she enjoyed lifting heavy objects and found herself an inspiration for the men around her. Shanique states, “I’ve always been into lifting weights, but I’m more attracted to the aesthetics of fitness.”

She has also donated money to the Epilepsy Foundation of America and given her own gym equipment and training machines to the Dayton Police Department in Ohio.
