BPC-157

BPC-157 is a stable 15-amino-acid sequence derived from body protection compound, a protein found in human gastric juice. Animal work reports accelerated healing across tendon, ligament, muscle, bone and gastrointestinal tissue, with proposed mechanisms including upregulation of VEGF-driven angiogenesis, modulation of the nitric oxide system, and increased fibroblast migration and growth-factor receptor expression. The evidence base is almost entirely rodent. No adequately powered human trial has been published, which is the central fact about this compound and should lead every page about it.

KPV

KPV is the terminal three residues of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone. It retains the parent hormone anti-inflammatory activity, apparently by entering cells and interfering with NF-κB and MAPK signalling to reduce proinflammatory cytokine production, but it does not activate melanocortin-1 receptors and therefore does not cause tanning. Most research is in inflammatory bowel models, where oral and rectal delivery have been examined.

BPC-157 vs KPV: common questions

What is the difference between BPC-157 and KPV?

Both are healing & repair. BPC-157: A synthetic pentadecapeptide derived from a gastric protein, and the most searched compound in the peptide category. KPV: The C-terminal tripeptide of alpha-MSH, which keeps the anti-inflammatory activity without the pigmentation effects.

Which has stronger evidence, BPC-157 or KPV?

They sit at the same evidence level: animal models only. BPC-157 has about 0 human studies and KPV about 0.

Are BPC-157 and KPV FDA approved?

Neither is FDA approved for any indication.
