Comparison
Argireline vs GHK-Cu
Argireline is cosmetic & topical; GHK-Cu is healing & repair. They are compared here because they are frequently considered against each other, not because they act alike.

Argireline
Argireline is a synthetic peptide patterned on the N-terminal sequence of SNAP-25, a component of the SNARE complex that mediates vesicle fusion during neurotransmitter release. By competing with native SNAP-25 for a position in the complex it modestly reduces acetylcholine release at the neuromuscular junction, softening expression-line formation. The comparison to botulinum toxin is a marketing frame rather than an equivalence: the effect is far weaker, and penetration through intact stratum corneum is the limiting factor.
GHK-Cu
GHK is a tripeptide present in human plasma that declines markedly with age, and it binds copper(II) with high affinity to form GHK-Cu. The complex modulates expression of a large set of genes involved in tissue remodelling, stimulating collagen, elastin and glycosaminoglycan synthesis while influencing antioxidant and anti-inflammatory pathways. Its dermatological evidence is comparatively strong and includes controlled human trials; the systemic injectable use is far less supported.
Argireline vs GHK-Cu: common questions
What is the difference between Argireline and GHK-Cu?
Argireline is cosmetic & topical and GHK-Cu is healing & repair, so they act on different pathways. Argireline: A hexapeptide marketed as topical botulinum toxin, working on the same SNARE machinery by a much weaker mechanism. GHK-Cu: A naturally occurring copper-binding tripeptide with the strongest human evidence base of any compound in the healing group, mostly topical.
Which has stronger evidence, Argireline or GHK-Cu?
They sit at the same evidence level: clinical trials. Argireline has about 8 human studies and GHK-Cu about 15.
Are Argireline and GHK-Cu FDA approved?
Neither is FDA approved for any indication.
