Hormone replacement therapy statistics 2026: HRT use since the WHI, the FDA label change and telehealth

This page tracks how many US women use hormone replacement therapy (HRT), how use collapsed after the 2002 Women's Health Initiative results, what the FDA changed in 2025 and 2026, and how telehealth is reshaping menopause care. HRT use among US postmenopausal women fell from 26.9% in 1999 to 4.7% in 2020, but hormone therapy use among women in outpatient care has since roughly doubled to 3.6% by April 2026.
