Does your BMI meet
the label criteria?
Wegovy and Zepbound are approved for adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or 27 or above with at least one weight-related condition. This calculates your BMI and checks it against those criteria. Meeting them is where a prescriber starts, not where they finish.

Meeting the criteria is where a prescriber starts. Compare GLP-1 providers ↗
How it’s calculated
BMI = weight (kg) ÷ height (m)² Label criteria (Wegovy, Zepbound): BMI ≥ 30, or BMI ≥ 27 with ≥ 1 weight-related comorbidity (hypertension, type 2 diabetes, dyslipidemia, obstructive sleep apnea, cardiovascular disease)
Assumptions and limits
- BMI does not distinguish muscle from fat; a muscular person can have a high BMI and low body fat. Use the body-fat calculator alongside it.
- Meeting label criteria is a prescriber’s starting point. Contraindications (personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma, MEN2, pregnancy) override it.
- Compounded GLP-1 availability depends on FDA shortage status and state rules and is not covered by these criteria.
